As with most Christians, Deb has faced many adversities in life. She views these hardships as opportunities to minister to both believers and non-believers, especially in the areas of infertility, death, divorce, and remarriage. Her desire as a Christian writer and speaker is to utilize her spiritual growth experiences to offer hope and effect change in the lives of her readers. One of her prized possessions is an 1899 copy of her favorite book In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. This book has influenced Christians for more than 100 years and her personally since the day she discovered it.

Prior to becoming a fulltime caregiver, Deb was actively involved at Tannehill Valley Baptist Church , where she taught the Lydia Ladies Sunday School Class. As a teacher, she dug into God’s Word and wrote much of her own material. She also previously led the student drama team and wrote and directed many skits and full-length Easter and Christmas dramas.

Several years ago, Deb led a Freedom Jubilee weekend conference and taught her Bible Study – The Fight for Freedom.

She and her husband love to travel. Over the years, they have cruised Alaska, New England, and both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. Her bucket list includes a desire to visit all 50 states. Of all the places they have seen thus far, Lake Tahoe is their favorite vacation spot. While Andy enjoys the slopes at Heavenly, Deb prefers curling up in front of a warm fire while reading or writing. Her second most favorite spot is the Grand Canyon. It’s definitely God’s country.
